Mara Davis, DaveFM
Tim Gunn, Mara Davis caricature (center blond), and Mara Davis making it work at The Palm.A. First we’d hit the usual spots, Piedmont Park, The High Museum, Little 5 Points and Lenox Mall. They seem like they may be in need of a fashion makeover since the 80′s. Do you think they’d fit in at the corner of 10th and Piedmont? For dinner it has to be Kyma! Balki would totally be into the stuffed grape leaves.

A. Underground sucks. Anytime someone comes in from out of town and says “we went to Underground” I’m just like UGGGGGH. It is the worst. I want to re-visit Sweet Auburn and The King Center. After living here almost 15 years I’ve still never done the official tour of the MLK center. And of course the CNN Center is great.

Q. 24 hours riding MARTA, 12 hours driving The Perimeter, or 6 hours walking up and down Peachtree?
A. I actually rode Marta for 24 hours as part of a radio promotion during 96 Olympics. What the f**k was I thinking? All of these choices sound pretty awful, but if I’d have to pick one it would be the driving. Sitting in my own car with music and listening to Stern on Sirius would be a plus.
Q. Favorite neighborhood?
A. Virginia Highland, where I live. I also love Inman and Candler Park.
Q. It’s a Radio Free Lunch….this time, without the radio. Choose three records that would make the perfect soundtrack to a lazy afternoon.
A. This changes all the time—but right now it would be Beck’s Sea Change, Neil Young’s Harvest Moon and Adele’s 19.
BONUS QUESTION: Why is Radio Free Lunch awesome?
A. Because it changes daily and it’s totally listener interactive. My audience comes up with the best stuff. And then there’s–well—me! Ha! I am an egomaniac but at least I’ll admit it! Here’s to hoping I can plug my blog here: http://maradavis.com
