Jessica Dauler, Jessica Shops
Jessica Dauler is Atlanta’s undisputed shopping shaman, having taken the term “shop girl” to a whole new level. Jessica Shops, her flagship web site, is the “paper of record” in the local shopping scene, and with 25,000 subscribers to her weekly newsletter, it’s safe to say that there are a few shoppers out there that trust her opinion. The AisForAtlanta crew figured that if she could handle the wackiness that is The Bert Show every Friday, she could our Five Questions With… interrogation!

Q. Favorite neighborhood?
A. I am sure you meant favorite neighborhoods. Who can pick just one? If food is involved, it would be Inman Park for Shauns, Rathbuns, or Highland Bakery. For designer labels I would hit Buckhead (but only if there is a sale), for some funk, Little 5, and for at bit of everything… Virginia Highlands is a great place to spend a Saturday.
Q. It’s your final meal in Atlanta. Where will you be going, and what will you be eating?

Q. As a veteran of many sample/warehouse sales, any sage wisdom for the uninitiated?
A. Absolutely! You must go prepared. This means extra cash (in case they don’t accept credit), and wear a tight fitting tank and boy shorts (or a skirt if you are shy) so you can try on anywhere if the fitting rooms are jammed. Easy on/off shoes are crucial as well. Know what you want and hit those areas first, don’t be afraid to ask for help and direction when you walk in. If you want or need jeans, don’t get side tracked by earrings. Finally… get there early for the best selection and sizes.
Q. 24 hours riding MARTA, 12 hours driving around the Perimeter, or 6 hours walking up and down Peachtree?
A. 6 HOURS WALKING UP AND DOWN PEACHTREE. I would kill myself if I had to drive around the Perimeter for 12 hours.
BONUS QUESTION: What is Jessica Shops, and why is it awesome?
I am a shoppers best friend, and JessicaShops.com is where I share everything I can find about great deals in Atlanta and some online. I am obsessed with shopping but refuse to pay retail, and the visitors to my site have the same obsession. Everyone loves and needs a deal especially in this economy. JessicaShops.com exists because once you’ve slipped into something half-price, you can’t wear retail anymore!
