Cooking Classes At Buford Highway Farmers Market

It may not be appropriately named, but Buford Highway Farmers Market is one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets.  There are no actual farmers there, nor is there an abundance of produce that claims to be locally grown.  The variety, however, is ridiculous.  It’s one of the only supermarkets that I know of that offers achiote, Frosted Flakes, Thai Basil, corn masa, a variety of borscht and a dumpling stand.

On my most recent pilgrimage there I learned that they also offer a number of cooking classes.  They’re $20 a pop for a two-hour session, but each class also comes with a $10 Buford Highway Farmers Market Gift Card.  Do the math, it’s a steal.

If you’re interested in upping the culinary ante with your Chinese (Chinese Southern Belles), Thai (Chef Philippa Kingsley), Indian (Chef Gulshan Singh) or everything in between (Chef Alex Reethof),  head over to Buford Highway.  It will make you happy…and hungry.
