    Charles Barkley Moves To Midtown

Charles Barkley spends quite a bit of time in Atlanta.  As of one of the studio analysts of TNT’s NBA coverage, “The Round Mound of Rebound” is practically a permanent fixture on the Atlanta network’s coverage of professional basketball.

As a real estate guy, I’ve often wondered whether or not Barkley and his fellow studio jocks have invested in Atlanta real estate.  The convenience of a hotel is hard to beat- room service, housekeeping and the Turner corporate tab certainly have their pros.  But for a guy like Barkley- who has probably logged a couple hundred nights in our fair city- I’ve always assumed that a more permanent home has some pretty specific advantages over free breakfast and a complimentary USA Today.

Turns out Barkley chose the best of both worlds.

Skimming the “Leads” section of the Atlanta Business Chronicle, it appears that Barkley has recently closed on a unit at 75 W. 14th St- aka Above The Four Seasons.  For $420,000, Sir Charles’ commute will be less than half a mile.  When he’s not on camera, he’ll be able to enjoy some pretty sweet amenities including membership to the Four Seasons Health Club, room service from the hotel’s noted Park 75 restaurant and some fantastic morning coffee klatches with the various traveling consultants, bankers and socialites that hang in the hotel’s glimmering lobby.
