Atlanta BeltLine Northeast Corridor: Vision Becomes Reality
I love the newest “Future Concept” of the Atlanta Beltline’s Northeast Corridor:
This particular segment of the BeltLine – which runs “behind” Inman Park, underneath the Freedom Parkway overpass – is a couple hundred feet behind my office. While the transit portion is still up in the air (we’ll get a chance to vote on it soon enough), the pedestrian path is currently under construction. The 2.5 mile path is set to open in early 2012, and I believe it’s impact on the surrounding communities will be immeasurable. Call me a total homer – a BeltLine romantic – but next Spring, the muddy patch you see below will become the path du jour for thousands of walkers, runner, bikers, roller bladers and strollers every day:
