February can be a real drag: shorter days, colder temperatures and little to get excited about.
This year, we’re going to make the most of the dog days of winter with these 4 sure fire ways to break out of the seasonal funk. So, instead of daydreaming about that breakthrough Spring day in Piedmont Park, we think you should join us at one of the following…
1. Silly and Smooth Love Songs With Yacht Rock Schooner– It doesn’t matter if your Valentine’s Day is romantic or platonic. You love silly love songs, and February 10th at Park Tavern is your night to be a smooth operator. Guaranteed to get you to your happy place.
2. Eat Thai Style Fried Ice Cream On Buford Highway– Fried ice cream in February, what could be better? 8 Fahrenheit is one part Cold Stone Creamery, one part Buford Highway, and one part Bill Nye. Watch your ice cream barista “fry” your cream, and customize to your heart’s content.
3. Butcher It Up At The Pine Street Market– Sharpen up your knives- this month The Pine Street Market features Butcher Boot Camp, Whole Hog, Unusual Meats and Cured Meats classes. Likely not vegan friendly.
4. Get Your Poetry On With U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera– When was the last time that you went to a poetry reading? Think about it… now, pull out your calendar and punch in February 19. Juan Felipe Herrera is the current U.S. Poet Laureate, and his reading at Emory is free and open to the public.
So let’s kick those winter doldrums aside, and get to doing. If, in your spare moments between butchering, getting funky, eating ice cream or listening to poetry you also come across anyone thinking about buying or selling a home, don’t keep us a secret- we’d love to help!
