Just last week, I wrote about the looming “”intown”” apartment boom in the Inman Park/Old Fourth Ward/Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail corridor. 1259 apartments- a certifiable boom! Never to be outdone by “”intown””, Buckhead and Brookhaven are going through their own boom. From the Atlanta Business Chronicle:
In total, there are 1,097 units under construction and 2,837 units proposed in Buckhead and Brookhaven, according to a third-quarter report from Haddow & Co., an Atlanta real estate consultant.
I bolded, for emphasis. Not that nearly 4,000 apartments need any sort of graphical embelishment.
It seems like a week can’t go by without the announcement of another new apartment development. The apartments are coming in all shapes and sizes office conversions, new towers, mixed use developments… you name it, it’s being done. It reminds me a little bit of 2006, except we’ve replaced townhome developments and condominium buildings with apartments.
Let’s hope that the comparison ends there.
