Intown Academy Community Celebration

Based in the former C.W. Hill Elementary School in the Old Fourth Ward, The Intown Academy is Atlanta’s newest charter school.  As the school revs up for their first year in operation, they’re putting on their first community-wide event, an opportunity for all of us to pull together for a little spring (summer?) cleaning with the leadership of this fledgling institution.  Still not quite sure what a charter school is?  Here’s your chance to find out in person.

A note on the school, and the event, straight from the source:

Almost a year to the day when the last school bell rang at the C.W. Hill Building, community volunteers and families are uniting together to bring a new vision to the new home of The Intown Academy, a tuition-free public charter school. Join us June 19 at the former site of the C.W. Hill Elementary School Building on 386 Pine Street, Atlanta, GA. The Clean And Green event will be a true groundbreaking with a volunteer spirit. Come see our transformation. New families interested in enrollment are also invited to join us in the recreation center to meet the principal, and begin the enrollment process to secure your child’s place at The Intown Academy while your children enjoy the festivities. Tuition is free to The Intown Academy, but enrollment is limited on a first-come first-serve basis.
