It’s October, which means it’s Breast Health Awareness Month. There are some great happenings around town, so whether you’re taking care of your own health, or interested in helping raise much needed funds or awareness… here are a few opportunities to consider:
October 16-17: National Mammography Screening
In honor of National Mammography Screening Day (October 16), Emory Healthcare is offering extended and weekend hours for women who need to schedule their annual screening mammogram. Screening mammograms will be available from 7 am until 7 pm on Friday, October 16 and 8 am until 2 pm on Saturday, October 17.

Tour de Pink
Tour de Pink is a one-day benefit bike ride for the Young Survivors Coalition. It rolls out from Perimeter Mall on Oct. 17 with different races and rides for different skill levels.
“The Softer Side” Art Show
“”The Softer Side “”opening explores the technique and inspiration of women artists, including Lorraine Christie, Nancy Franke, Marti Somers, Angie Renfro, Lisa Meyer Kairos, Susan Spies, Peggy Everett, Christina Doelling and others, and serves as a fund-raiser for breast cancer awareness. The free opening is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Huff Harrington Fine Art in Atlanta.
