The Atlanta Community Food Bank distributes over 20 million pounds of food to those in need.  They need your help, and they’re willing to teach you how to cook for it.

 

The Food Bank’s Simple Abundance series offers folks the chance to support the food bank in exchange for cooking classes with some of Atlanta’s top toques.  Do good and eat well- it’s a great combination for a Monday night.

Catering knowledge and tips are a definite boon to the home cook who likes to entertain guests. As Director of Catering for Sol Catering and having worked in the kitchens of Sundown Café and Taqueria del Sol, Chef Waller has expertise to share. In August Taqueria del Sol receives a large shipment of green chilies fresh from Mexico. Chef Waller will take advantage of this overabundance by showcasing the versatility of this chili with a class menu that includes New Mexico Chile Rellenos, Green Chile Cheeseburger Sliders, Green Chile Enchiladas and South Meets Southwest Brisket Tacos. Evening includes wine tastings sponsored by Sherlock’s Wine Merchant and a chance to win tasty door prizes provided by Atlanta Beverage, Bella Cucina Artful Foods, and Cabot Cheese.
