If you’re looking to buy a home in Decatur, you need to get to know my new listing at 8 Wimberly Court.
Pretty house, right? You should see the inside…
I’m not going to try and oversell you on it- this house doesn’t need my help in that regard. At $399,900, there’s really nothing else like it on the market in Decatur. Location couldn’t be more on point, and the home itself is an absolute charmer. I can think of tons of reasons as to why you should buy this house (or at the very least, forward this link), but rather than bore you with broker babble, let’s find out from the current homeowner more about what makes this one so special:
Q. What makes living in Decatur so great?
A. We enjoy some of Atlanta’s best restaurants, several fantastic parks, and close proximity to the ever-evolving Beltline. What’s not to love?! We also appreciate living in such an eclectic and warm community . There are tons of great events in the Square that are appropriate for every conceivable age and demographic, and we love crossing paths with neighbors who were born and raised here as well as recent transplants from all over the world. We feel fortunate to live in a true community, a place where there’s just the right balance of earthiness, happiness and true kinship.
Q. 24 hour eating binge in Decatur- where are you going?
A. Iberian Pig is a must. We don’t even eat pig, and we have yet to be disappointed from a single dish! Leon’s is another favorite of ours. The atmosphere is just so vibrant and hip, yet easy and comfortable. Sometimes we dine earlier with kids, other times later with an adult round of bocce ball, and we keep coming back. Also, hard to go on an eating binge in Decatur without drinking as well- you’d be well served pulling up to the bar at The Marley, Brick Store and Twains. Thankfully, we’re just steps from Downtown Decatur… so when it’s all said and done, the stumble home is a short one.
Q. How do you like living on the cutest, Mayberry-esque cul-de-sac in all of Mayberry-esque Decatur?
A. Living intown often means a slight sacrifice on yard size, so we are ever so grateful to live on a cul-de-sac. Kids from the whole neighborhood come to our circle to ride bikes, many for their first time without training wheels, and there is an immediately closeness with your neighbors when you share a common space. The circle has been known to host fabulous wine parties and fierce workout sessions!
Q. What do you love about your house?
A. We love the openness of our family room. It’s the room we spend the most time in, and we have a great surround sound system for movies and listening to music. We also love the cozy feeling we get when we’re home. It’s just one of those houses that makes you feel good from the moment you walk through the front door!
Q. Sometimes it’s “”the little things”” that we love most about where we live. What are some of the neighborhood amenities that you’ll miss most?
A. We’re just a mile and change away from Your Dekalb Farmers Market, unquestionably the best grocery store in Atlanta. No disrespect to Kroger or Publix, but there’s just nothing like YDFM!
We’re also just down the street from the Decatur Toy Park, which is to most intown/Decatur parents the holy grail of all parks. We’ll miss our jaunts over there- there are more toys than the kids know what to do with, and for parents its a great spot to meet friends new and old.
And, of course, no list of “”the little things”” would be complete without mentioning Dancing Goats. Oh, how we’ll miss their coffee and hospitality…
