Pending Home Sales Rise In April

From our friends over at the Atlanta Business Chronicle:

Pending sales of existing homes, or contracts signed but not closed, rose 6.7 percent in April, according to the National Association of Realtors. April’s pending sales were up 3.2 percent from a year ago, the NAR says.

Granted, these are “”pending”” sales and not “”actual”” sales, but still, it’s a good sign. And yes, I know, I’m the guy that’s always talking about how we’re better off ignoring national numbers and focusing our attention on local- even hyperlocal- markets. I guess when it comes down to it, I just like hearing good news. Don’t you?
