Radon: A Bigger Deal Than Swine Flu

“While the swine-flu scare grabbed all the headlines today, radon silently took the lives of nearly 60 Americans. According to the EPA, there are 21,000 annual lung cancer deaths caused by radon, an odorless, tasteless gas that most people don’t even know exists.

As the media obsesses over swine-flu (except for Nancy Grace, who still seems determined to find the truth behind the Caylee Anthony disappearance), radon continues to be a major health hazard in American homes- nearly 1 out of 15 are estimated by the EPA to have elevated radon levels.

There’s no need to get hysterical or paranoid that you’re living in one of those homes, but I definitely recommend that everyone learns more about it.
