There’s East Atlanta Village, and then there’s East Atlanta.
If you know Atlanta, you know what I’m talking about. East Atlanta Village is chuck full of coffee shops, great restaurants, arts, music, shopping- it’s an Atlanta gem. East Atlanta, on the other hand, is a loose connection of neighborhoods that Realtors like me throw around to describe anything within a ten minute drive of the Village. So, let me clear in describing my new listing at 1325 Newton Ave– it’s most definitely East Atlanta Village, just a block or two away (and a block from Brownwood Park, to boot!).

Q. What makes living in East Atlanta Village so great?
A. EAV is the best because of the walkability and our amazing neighbors! Being a block from the village is so convenient (yay no driving); also, Thursdays are my favorite days because the Farmers Market is literally around the corner and there is always a King of Pops and Atomic Ice Cream cart. As a photographer EAV gives so many options of places to shoot from Brownwood Park (a block away) or the village itself to our backyard. Oh and all the food within walking distance 🙂
Q. What do you love most about your house?
A. I would say the back deck but that is a given :). My fave place inside the house is upstairs. Sometimes I just need to get away and having the room & bathroom upstairs really helps me do that! My husband can have his friends over to play video games and I can relax up there with a book. My best friend loves the upstairs and calls it my ‘Narnia’
Q. You’ve got one of the best yards in the neighborhood, and a magazine-worthy deck. What will you miss most about it?
A. So Much–We love that deck! When we saw that deck we knew that we found the perfect home! The split levels are great because one of us can be chilling on the couch while another makes a conference call on the other side (yes when I Work From Home I do it outside), and I even do photoshoots back there! We are known for our BBQs, so I’ll miss having all my friends hanging out on the deck and playing frisbee in the yard.
We love our yard and deck so much we even got married there (why pay for a venue when we have all that space?). We accommodated 120 people, a tent, tables and chairs, a buffet, 2 bars and a dance floor and to this day our friends say it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to!
Q. 24 hours to binge eat your neighborhood- recommendations?
A. This is hard as there are so many great places to eat all within walking distance! For a day of amazing binge eating I would go to the Argosy for brunch (and some bloody marys–get the Special BBQ it is to DIE for), grab the best Bahn Mi in Atlanta at We Suki Suki for a snack, hit up the Elder Tree Irish Pub for a pint and to watch the soccer game or trivia, get one of Atlanta’s best burgers at The Earl, grab a Milkshake from Morellis, and finish at The Octopus Bar for some late night food (Anthony Bourdain did and Episode of The Layover there).
