Georgia has its sights set on the nation’s seniors, and if all goes according to plan, it will become the country’s preeminent destination for early bird dinners and competitive shuffleboard tournaments.

Governor Sonny Perdue recently signed HB 1055, a bill that essentially eliminates state taxes on retirement income for seniors.  The  phase-out begins in 2012, and it reaches 100%  in 2017.  Not a lot of fanfare in the media- yet- but the impact could be huge.

Could eventually become a big deal for Atlanta real estate.
